While at rehabilitation, you will have chances to go to the store, but packing all of the necessities the first time can make your time here a lot less stressful. Your goal is to bring everything you need at the beginning and pick up the essentials as you need them.
Important Items to Have For Day 1 of Treatment
Going into rehabilitation is a life-changing experience. It’s a time to completely remove drugs or alcohol from your life and take the first step to define the new you. Your first day at Monarch Shores is crucial, so it’s best to be prepared and have the proper documentation with you. Remember to bring these important items:
- Personal identification, such as a driver’s license or passport
- Insurance card(s)
- List of medications
- Regular physician’s contact information
- Credit card and/or cash
- Bring all currently prescribed medications in original bottles
To register at Monarch Shores, you need some form of government-issued identification and your insurance card(s). A list of medications is important so our doctor can make adjustments to your personally-crafted treatment, if need be. Your physician’s number is required in case we need to ask him or her any questions regarding your medical history. It’s also a good idea to have some form of money with you as you may never know when you’ll need to purchase additional items.
Personal Items are Welcome at Monarch Shores
Aside from personal identification and other documentation, it is also important to bring other personal items to help make your stay at Monarch more enjoyable. For example, you might want to bring a journal or some paper to document your journey and progress through treatment. If you’re someone who has a passion for drawing or painting, a sketchbook would be a fantastic way to show your feelings and personal growth.
Another common item people bring to rehab are photos of loved ones. If and when rehab becomes tough, you want to have the faces of family or friends to give you the extra motivation and strength you need to continue your fight through your treatment.
We also encourage all of our clients to feel free to bring any kind of personal form of entertainment. Some common items include MP3 players, cameras, and books. There is plenty of time to listen to music, take pictures, and read when you’re not in counseling or taking part in other activities at Monarch. Also, don’t forget your toothbrush and any other personal toiletries you might need.
